Structural Features and Working PrincipleStructural Features of the ActuatorThe actuator mainly consists of a motor (single-phase or three-phase), a reducer, a switch control box, a mechanical limit device, and a handwheel.The motor is the power device of the actuator.This motor has good servo characteristics, meaning it has a high starting torque multiple, low starting current, and relatively small rotational inertia. The motor is equipped with an internal temperature switch for overload protection; when the motor experiences abnormal overheating, this switch will cut off the motor circuit to protect the motor and actuator from being burned out. Once the motor cools down, the switch reconnects, and the motor resumes operation.The reducer generally consists of three stages (multi-turn reducers usually have only two stages). The first and second stages use compact, high transmission ratio, and high-efficiency planetary gear transmission, while part of the two-stage reducers use helical gear transmission. The final stage uses a worm gear and worm or screw-nut transmission with a large reduction ratio and self-locking function.For angular travel actuators with a reducer rated no more than 600 Nm, the high-speed stage consists of two-stage planetary gear transmission, and the output stage uses worm gear transmission. For multi-turn actuators, the reducer's high-speed stage is planetary gear transmission, and the output stage uses helical gear transmission.For angular travel actuators with a reducer rated not less than 1000 Nm, the reducer is composed of a multi-turn actuator reducer combined with a worm gear and worm screw reducer.
