Summary : Introduction to the Development of Electric Actuators

.Electric actuators are also called electric actuating mechanisms. They are indispensable field-driving devices in industrial automation control systems. They are used to control the opening and closing of equipment such as valves and dampers (and also to control their opening degree). They are one of the three major industrial applications. Electric actuators are widely used in a variety of industrial fields including petroleum, chemical, water treatment, power, building materials, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, papermaking, energy, food processing, shipbuilding, and building automation. For the working principle of electric actuators, please refer to another original article by Lampu Electronics Co., Ltd. titled 'What is an Electric Actuator and Its Working Principle.'

Electric actuators have been around since 1905 when Siemens produced the first electric actuators, and for over 100 years, Siemens has remained a key manufacturer and developer of electric actuators. Its SIPOS series products hold a significant market share in our country. (Later, Yangzhou Electric Equipment Repair Factory (Yangxiu) introduced SIPOS2 technology and manufactured it domestically.)

Research and development of electric actuators began in the late 1960s. These electric actuators, which had contacts (mechanical contacts such as electromagnetic relays used for motor start-up and direction switching), were essentially template replicas.

Truly innovative electric actuators were developed in the 1980s. Driven by power electronics technology, the electric actuator industry developed rapidly. At that time, several major industrial automation instrument research institutes in our country, in cooperation with major industrial instrument manufacturers (such as Chongqing Industrial Automation Instrument Research Institute, Shanghai Industrial Automation Instrument Research Institute, Sichuan Instrument, etc.), developed non-contact actuators (at that time, with the development of electronics technology). This led to the emergence of contactless high-power switches (such as thyristors), DKJ rotary electric actuators, and DKZ linear electric actuators.
